The city was officially declared the European Capital of Sport for 2018 at a ceremony in Brussels, Sofia Municipality said.

The ceremony was attended by three legendary Bulgarian champions - Tereza Marinova, Ekaterina Dafovska and Yordan Yovchev.

The ageless Oksana Chusovitina continues to break records in gymnastics, reports Sega. 

The 42-year-old Uzbek has qualified for the eighth-final at the Montreal World Cup and thus has become the oldest gymnast ever that accomplished something like that.

For a 9th consecutive year, the American University in Bulgaria will organize the AUBG Olympics in Blagoevgrad.

This year, the event will take place on April 27. As usual, it will be held at the baseball field of Bachinovo Park, on one of the picturesque hills above Blagoevgrad.
