Monument to Gavrilo Princip unveiled in Belgrade
A monument to Gavrilo Princip was unveiled on Sunday in Belgrade in the presence of Serbian and RS presidents Tomislav Nikolic and Milorad Dodik.
Princip was a member of the Young Bosnia (Mlada Bosna) movement in the early 20th century, who on Vidovdan (St. Vitus Day, June 28) 1914 in Sarajevo assassinated Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand.

Serbia’s president unveiled a statue of Princip, whose murder of Archduke Franz Ferdinand helped to spark World War I, saying that the assassin tried to liberate Balkan countries from slavery.

Belgrade to unveil monument to Gavrilo Princip on June 28
A monument to Gavrilo Princip will be placed by June 28 in Financial Park in Belgrade, City Manager Goran Vesic has announced.
The park is located between Nemanjina, Sarajevska, and Admirala Geprata streets.

"Ex Ponto" exhibition opens at Kalemegdan

Exhibition Not so Long Ago...Fellow Citizens opens Tuesday

Nikolic: Princip's acted in defence of his country
BELGRADE - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic said on Monday that Gavrilo Princip had acted in defence of his country when he assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand, a form of counterattack against the symbol of the monarchy that had taken away his country's freedom.
