Unemployment in Bulgaria in October 2017 was 6.1 per cent, again below the European Union average, which that month was 7.4 per cent, EU statistics agency Eurostat said on November 30, Independent Balkan News Agency reported.

Additional BGN 80 million are provided by the government to tackle unemployment in Bulgaria. Money will be directed to long-term unemployed and unskilled people. This is what Deputy Social Minister Zornitsa Rusinova told in front of the Bulgarian National Television.

Bulgaria's unemployment rate dropped to 5.8% in the third quarter of 2017 from 7.0% in the prior-year period, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Tuesday, quoted by See News. 

The employment rate among people aged 15 to 64 rose by 4.3 percentage points year-on-year to 68.5% in the July-September period, the NSI said in a quarterly labour force survey.

Unemployment in Bulgaria slightly declines in September on a monthly basis, reaching a level of 6.1%.

This is the latest Eurostat seasonally adjusted data released today (October 31) and quoted by Investor.bg.
