Yet another incident of violence against woman as issue remains rampant in Turkey
A woman was filmed being beaten up on the street by a man before the eyes of her child on March 6, as the video went viral on Turkish social media, with users calling out the issue which has failed to come to an end in the country where femicide are also rift.
Turkey to raise minimum wage by 21.56% in 2021
Turkey is raising its minimum wage by 21.56% as of Jan. 1, the country's family, labor and social services minister announced on Dec. 28.
Net minimum wage for single people will be 2,826 Turkish liras ($377) a month, up from 2,324 Turkish liras a month ($310), Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk said.

Turkey plans to extend layoff ban
The Turkish government is planning to extend a three-month layoff ban introduced by parliament in mid-April, according to the family, labor and social services minister.
"Restriction on termination [of employment contract] has been an important element in protecting rights of employees during the pandemic period," Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk told private broadcaster NTV on June 13.

Turkey bars firms from laying off workers amid pandemic
Turkey has barred employers from laying off workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, a top government official said on April 16.
Employment contracts cannot be nullified for a three-month period except in unconscionable situations, according to the country's labor, social services and family minister.
Minimum wage in Turkey raised by 26 pct
The monthly minimum wage in Turkey has been raised to 2,020 Turkish Liras ($381) by a 15-member commission led by Family, Labor and Social Services Minister Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk.

Jazz in Bodrum during Ramadan holiday
A new jazz event in Bodrum, We Jazz Bodrum, will kick off on the second day of the Ramadan holiday on June 26 before continuing in various spots in the western town throughout summer.
The first concert of the event will be given by world famous Moroccan singer Hindi Zahra at the Bodrum Ancient Theater.

Hindi Zahra to Perform in Sofia on October 16
Franco-Moroccan singer and actress Hindi Zahra, will perform in Bulgaria's capital Sofia on Friday.
She is coming to the Sofia Live Club with a band of six musicians.
