Now the roofs and the workers who create and care for them are aiming to enter a select heritage club to showcase a profession adapting to the challenges of climate change.

Rising CO2 Levels Putting Millions at Risk of Nutritional Deficiencies
Rising levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) from human activity are making staple crops such as rice and wheat less nutritious and could result in 175 million people becoming zinc deficient and 122 million people becoming protein deficient by 2050, according to new research led by Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
Mineco plans new mines, continues business in Serbia, region
Mineco Limited has announced the opening of another mine in Serbia, pointing out at the same time that it achieved "excellent business results in 2015."
The company, a member of the Mineco Group, said it was exploring for lead and zinc in the area of Bosilegrad, eastern Serbia, and that in view of promising results, it plans to open a mine, Bosil-Metal, in 2018.
Varba-Batantsi Lead, Zinc Mine Celebrates Official Restart
The Varba-Batantsi mine near the southern Bulgarian town of Madan will be officially reopened Saturday after a 15-year break.
Sergey Atanasov, CEO of Gorubso-Madan, said that the mine had restarted its production activity in July, registering an output of around 2500 tonnes, adding that the August report would be 1000 above that rate.
Varba-Batantsi Lead, Zinc Mine in Southern Bulgaria to Open in July
The investments in the Varba-Batantsi mine near Madan, which is to open in July, amount to around BGN 15 M.
Sergey Atanasov, CEO of Bulgaria's Gorubso Madan metal mines, announced that a total of 120 people were working at the Varba-Batantsi mine, with 150 people to be involved in the production process, according to reports of the Bulgarian National Radio.
