Damiano David appears on my screen from Paris with his signature confidence, though he bears little resemblance to the eccentric Italian frontman of Måneskin. In our online meeting, he’s relaxed, wearing a white shirt and a wide tie with pink paisley patterns. His preppy style recalls David Bowie’s Duke era more than a rebellious rock star taking the stage by storm.

The Eject festival presents the rock band sensation Maneskin at the OAKA P5 (37 Kifissias). Damiano and his 20-something Italian gang introduced themselves to Europe with "Zitti e Buoni," and judging from their current global superstar status, it was the whole world that was watching.

Maneskin comes to Istanbul
Italian rock music group Maneskin, which won the 65th Eurovision Song Contest with its song 'Zitti E Buoni,' is getting ready to meet its Turkish fans. Consisting of lead vocalist Damiano David, bassist Victoria De Angelis, guitarist Thomas Raggi and drummer Ethan Torchio, the band will take the stage on July 23 at Istanbul KüçükÇiftlik Park.

Italian Eurovision winner returns negative test after drug furore
Damiano David, the flamboyant singer for Italy's Eurovision-winning rockers Maneskin, tested negative for drugs, the contest organisers said May 24, following a furore over speculation he snorted cocaine at the final.
The red lederhosen-clad vocalist was tested after footage of him leaning over a table in the hospitality area of the competition in Rotterdam went viral.
Italy Wins Eurovision with Måneskin, Bulgaria Is 10th
Italy's entry is the winner in the 2021 Eurovision song contest, held in Rotterdam in the Netherlands on May 22.
Måneskin and their song "Zitti E Buoni" won the contest with 524 points.
Italian rockers Maneskin win pandemic-defying Eurovision
Italian rock foursome Maneskin won the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam on May 22 in a glammed-up message of hope for a world emerging from the coronavirus pandemic.
As the tournament returned after a year off because of the virus, the high-kicking, lederhosen-wearing Italians beat off stiff competition from France and Switzerland with their song "Zitti e Buoni".
