Baghdad zoo animals suffer as mercury hits 50 degrees
A pair of Siberian tigers pant incessantly beside a pond at their zoo enclosure in the scorching summer heat of the Iraqi capital.
Temperatures on Monday breached 50 degrees Celsius (122 Fahrenheit) in Baghdad for the second day in a row, making life outdoors unbearable for both humans and animals.

Penguins fed twice a day with fish in Bursa Zoo
Some 17 penguins in a zoo in the northwestern province of Bursa are fed twice a day with European pilchard, the zoo officials have announced on Aug. 18.
"Fourteen penguins were brought from the Netherlands and Belgium in 2017. Three were born here in Bursa," Önder Sevim, the head of the caretakers in the zoo, told Demirören News Agency.

'Miracle' goat born from flames during forest fires

Sercan Bayat returned to his farm hours after he was evacuated because of forest fires to find a baby goat among perished farm animals in the burned woodland in Manavgat district.
He said fires reached his village right after they began.
