Romania is set to establish a new naval base aimed at training Ukrainian soldiers, according to DPA reports. The plan, proposed by President Klaus Iohannis, received overwhelming approval from the parliament in Bucharest today.

Romanian President Klaus Iohannis has decided to withdraw his candidacy for the position of NATO Secretary General, clearing the path for Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte to receive unanimous support from all 32 member countries of the alliance. The Defense Council of Romania officially endorsed Rutte's candidacy after Iohannis informed NATO allies of his withdrawal.

BUCHAREST - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic met with Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Bucharest on Thursday, the second day of a European People's Party congress in the Romanian capital.

Brnabic and Mitsotakis reconfirmed the good relations and cooperation between their countries and discussed future cooperation in several areas.

The two greeted each other cordially when they met.
Brnabi is attending this year\'s EPP Congress, which this year is being held in Bucharest on Wednesday and Thursday.
The Congress gathers more than 2,000 delegates from more than 40 countries.

GRANADA - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis on the sidelines of the European Political Community summit in Granada on Thursday.

President of Romania Klaus Iohannis met today with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

"Today's discussions were aimed at strengthening our relations. I reminded of the authentic connection between the two countries, between the Romanian community in Germany and the ethnic Germans in Romania," announced Iohannis, quoted by stiripesurse.ro.

"We have a common responsibility for security in the region. A priority common goal for our two countries is Schengen and we declare our readiness for our acceptance as soon as possible". This was stated by President Rumen Radev after a meeting with his Romanian colleague Klaus Iohannis, who is visiting Bulgaria at the invitation of the Bulgarian head of state.
