Thailand: Workers found dead after being trapped for days in tunnel

Three workers who were trapped inside a collapsed railway tunnel have been found dead, despite rescue efforts that lasted over five days, Thai authorities announced.

According to the BBC, the men, two from China and one from Myanmar, were believed to be still alive until Thursday, August 29.

The woman, identified only as Brigitte, had disappeared on August 22 after hiking near the Tunnel of Eupalinos, a popular tourist attraction near the island's southeastern coast. Her body was discovered by a Belgian tourist in the area, who then alerted the authorities.
