Turkey’s significance to further rise in post-pandemic era: German envoy

Turkey can lure more businesses and investments in the post-coronavirus world due to the further geographical diversification of the international production locations of German companies, German Ambassador to Turkey Martin Erdmann has said, citing Turkey's well-educated labor force combined with modern infrastructure as the most important assets for a successful future.

German ambassador meets Turkish Foreign Ministry officials in Ankara

German Ambassador to Ankara Martin Erdmann met officials from the Turkish Foreign Ministry in Ankara on Sept. 18, following an invitation made around 10 days ago, according to diplomatic sources. 

The meeting came two days after the ministry summoned Erdmann on Sept. 16 to voice condemnation over a rally held in support of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in Cologne. 

Turkey Summons German Ambassador as Tensions Mount

Turkey summoned Germany's ambassador to its foreign ministry on Monday, Berlin said, amid a mounting row between the two NATO powers.

Der Spiegel magazine said Ankara wanted to raise a German parliamentary motion last year that declared the 1915 massacre of Armenians by Ottoman forces a genocide - a description that Turkey has long fiercely rejected.

German envoy visits Turkish deputy speaker, expresses sorrow over mistreatment by German police

Germany's ambassador to Turkey, Martin Erdmann, expressed his sorrow to Ayşenur Bahçekapılı, the deputy parliament speaker of the Turkish parliament, for the mistreatment she received by German police at Cologne airport, which fueled a diplomatic tension between the two countries.
 
Erdmann paid a courtesy visit to Bahçekapılı on Dec. 15 in parliament.
