Macron: France has Proof Assad's Regime is Behind Chemical Weapons Attack in Syria

Reuters - French President Emmanuel Macron said France has proof the Syrian government was behind the suspected chemical attack last week in Douma, but added that he would decide whether to intervene once all the necessary information had been gathered.

Syrian rebels start leaving Damascus district under evacuation deal

Hundreds of Syrian rebels began leaving the besieged Damascus district of Barzeh yesterday as part of an evacuation deal with the government, state media and a war monitor reported. 

State television said fighters and their relatives had started departing Barzeh for rebel-held Idlib province in northwest Syria. 

Syria peace talks get underway in Kazakhstan

Peace talks aimed at ending the Syria conflict through a gathering between the Syrian government and rebel groups began on Jan. 23 in the Kazakh capital of Astana. 

Representatives from the two sides sat at the same table as Kazakh Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov delivered an opening speech, an AFP correspondent saw.
