The government will help victims of the flash floods recover, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on Aug. 13 on his visit to the disaster-hit Kastamonu province in the Black Sea region.

Five new caves have been discovered in the Küre Mountains National Park, which is located inside the borders of the two Black Sea provinces, Bartın and Kastamonu, local authorities said on Jan. 7.

Wildlife in the Küre Mountains National Park, located between the eastern Black Sea province of Bartın and Kastamonu, is being observed with 50 motion-triggered cameras located across the 37,000-square meter park. 

A unique snake species called "cerastes," known as the desert horned viper, has been seen at the Küre Mountains National Park for the first time in the region.
