After many years, Turkish Cyprus hosts a FIFA member team for first time
Turkish Cyprus is hosting a FIFA and UEFA member country's football team for winter camp for the first time in decades.
Vålerenga, which competed in Norway's top football league, came for a mid-season training at the facilities of a hotel in the Turkish Cypriot resort town of Kyrenia.

In commemoration of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus by Turkish forces on July 20 1974, the sirens wailed across the island on Thursday at 5.30am, the time of the first attack on the town of Kyrenia.
In July 1974, Turkish forces invaded and captured 3% of the island before a ceasefire was declared.
The olive is life
There is something beyond the Mediterranean Sea that bounds the countries sharing its shores: The olive. The olive tree is mentioned from the Torah to the Bible and eventually in the Quran. In the Quran it is mentioned as the "?ecere-i Tayyibe," a beneficial fruitful tree, or functional if it can be described as such.
