Kavala Port Authority relocates commercial operations to Filippos B port

The Kavala Port Authority announced the suspension of loading and unloading activities at the port of Keramoti, relocating them to the commercial port Filippos B in the area of Nea Karvali.

The transfer of commercial operations to another port is part of an effort to ease congestion at the port of Keramoti, which is the most popular ferry line for the island of Thasos.

Strong northerly winds disrupt shipping

Ships in various Greek ports were unable to dock on Saturday due to strong northerly winds that reached up to 9 on the Beaufort scale in certain parts of the Aegean Sea.

Rafina and Lavrio ports remained closed, as did the Rio-Antirio maritime route. In northern Greece, ships were unable to sail between Alexandroupoli and Samothraki, Kavala and Prino, and Keramoti and Thassos.

Strong winds suspend boat services to Chios, Mytilini, Samothrace

Gale-force winds disrupted ferry schedules from Piraeus to the islands of the Northern and Eastern Aegean on Monday.

The winds, reaching up to 9 and 10 on the Beaufort scale, have led to the suspension of the Nissos Samos ferry service from Piraeus to Chios and Mytilini, while the ships leaving from Lavrio to Kea island also remained tied at the port.

Ferry services cancelled as storm Penelope brings high winds

Ferryboats remained docked in ports around Greece on Friday, cutting off connections between the islands and the mainland, as a storm dubbed Penelope swept across the country, bringing downpours and gale-force winds.

There were no ferry services from the ports of Piraeus, Rafina or Lavrio.

Ferry services disrupted due to strong winds

Several ferry services were disrupted on Thursday due to gale-force winds up to 10 on the Beaufort scale blowing in the Aegean Sea, the Shipping Ministry said.

All planned services from Rafina port to the Cyclades have been suspended, while the "Adamandios Korais" ferry scheduled to sail to the western Cyclades will remain docked.
