Defense giant Aselsan becomes most valuable company listed on Istanbul bourse
Defense giant Aselsan, 85 percent of which is owned by the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, became the most valuable company listed on the Istanbul main stock exchange (BIST) on Nov. 14, surpassing Garanti Bank and Koç Holding early.

Turkey's ASELSAN, Saudi TAQNIA form joint venture
The Turkish Armed Forces Foundation company, ASELSAN, said on Dec. 27 that it had established a joint venture with Saudi firm TAQNIA in Saudi Arabia.
In a statement to the Borsa Istanbul, Turkey's main stock exchange, the company said the registration of its joint defense company SADEC had been completed.

China's ZTE buys stake in Turkey's Netaş for $101 mln in drive to expand overseas
Chinese telecom and mobile equipment group ZTE Corp. has agreed to buy 48.04 percent of Turkish systems integration provider Netaş Telekomunikasyon A.Ş. (NETAŞ) for 358 million Turkish Liras ($101.3 million) in order to expand in Turkey and the region, Netaş announced Dec. 6.
Anka carries out first missionary flight
Anka, an unmanned aerial vehicle developed by the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), carried out its debut missionary flight in the eastern province of Elaz?? on Feb. 5.
Taking off from Elaz?? Airport, Anka ("Phoenix" in English) ascended to an altitude of 19,000 feet to carry out a four-hour exploration and observation flight.
