Faiz Sucuoğlu, the prime minister of Turkish Cyprus, has presented the resignation of his coalition government for a second time in the last 10 days, increasing the possibility of a new general election.

New coalition government formed in Turkish Cyprus
A new government has been formed in Turkish Cyprus after a cabinet list was approved by Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar on Feb. 21.
The National Unity Party (UBP), the Democrat Party (DP) and the Rebirth Party (YDP) will take part in the new coalition government to be led by Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu, also the head of UBP.

Turkish Cypriots to head to ballot boxes on Jan 23
Turkish Cypriots will be heading for early general elections on Jan. 23 to elect its 50 parliamentary deputies following the resignation of a shaky coalition last month and the election of a new leader of the ruling party.
The decision on holding early general elections was published in the country's Official Gazette after it was approved by the Turkish Cypriot Parliament.

New coalition gov't in Turkish Cyprus wins vote of confidence
Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (AA) - The new coalition government formed in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) won the vote of confidence on Nov. 13.
The Assembly of the Republic held an extraordinary meeting to vote for the coalition of National Unity Party (UBP) and the Democrat Party (DP).
North Cyprus to go to early polls in January
All political parties in Turkish Cyprus have come to a mutual agreement to hold an early election on Jan. 22, 2022, according to a statement released on Nov. 8 by North Cyprus' Parliament Press Office.
"The chairmen of six political parties gathered in a meeting held by Parliament Speaker Önder Sennaroğlu and took the decision," it said.

The new government of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) secured a vote of confidence from parliament on Dec. 19.
With three abstaining, lawmakers voted 24-20 in favor of the coalition government made up of the National Unity Party (UBP), Democratic Party (DP), and the Rebirth Party (YDP).

New government formed in Turkish Cyprus
A new government was formed in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on Dec. 9.
Ersan Saner, acting chairman of the National Unity Party (UBP), will head the new government, having formed it after an unsuccessful attempt last month, followed by another stillborn effort by Tufan Erhurman, leader of the Republican Turkish Party (CTP).
