US religious freedom report notes pending requests in Slovenia
Washington – The US Office of International Religious Freedom published its 2021 religious freedom report on Thursday, noting religious communities’ concerns in Slovenia about several loopholes and pending requests, including those related to halal meals, male circumcision and a lack of certain religious staff in the military.
Kosovo Faith Leaders Unite Against Same-Sex Marriages
Religious leaders in mainly Muslim Kosovo on Wednesday signed a joint declaration against a new draft civil code that would allow same-sex marriages, and will be discussed in parliament on Thursday.
The religious leaders condemned an article which paves the way for a special law allowing same-sex civil unions.
Turkish baker supports French hospital by baking bread
A Turkish-origin baker and his family bake bread and take them to health personnel in the French city of Mulhouse to contribute to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The family appealed to Emile Muller Hospital in the city to help its personnel, and the request was accepted, the baker, Faruk Beyaz, said.
