'La Gomera' directed by Corneliu Porumboiu to premiere in North America at Toronto International Film Festival
The film "La Gomera," directed by Corneliu Porumboiu, Romania's submission for the US Academy award for best international feature film 2020, will have its North-American debut at the "Masters" section of the 44th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival, which will take place September 5-15.
Cannes Festival celebrates 70th edition
The Cannes Film Festival, the world's premier film event, will open on May 17 with "The Ghosts of Ismael," the latest film by French director Arnaud Desplechin and an opening ceremony hosted by luminaries Monica Bellucci and Pedro Almodovar.

Franco-Turkish director's debut wins four Cesars
Franco-Turkish director Deniz Gamze Ergüven's film "Mustang" won four awards at the Cesar film awards in Paris on late Feb. 26.
The film, which focuses on five teenage sisters living in rural northern Turkey, won awards for best debut film, best original screenplay, best original music and best editing at the 41st Cesar ceremony at the Theatre du Chatelet.
