A day of mourning for the death of miners in Aleksinac
The Municipality of Aleksinac made a decision today on declaring the Day of Mourning tomorrow, April 2, on the occasion of the accident that happened early this morning in the brown coal mine "Soko".
Eight miners lost their lives in the accident, six of them from Aleksinac.
A dramatic rescue operation of captured miners is underway
As RTS reports, the action of pulling the miners out of the pit is in progress, and a dozen of them have already been saved.
There were 49 miners in the mine at the time of the accident, and the Aleksinac shift was there.
The injured are being transferred to the hospital in Aleksinac and Clinical Center Nis.

Mladjan Radivojevic from Aleksinac, who four years ago filed a criminal complaint with the Association for the Truth and Justice of Missing Babies that he was abducted, appeared in Krusevac today with his biological sister and DNA analysis that confirms that.
Mladjan is the first person proven to have been stolen as a baby.

President addresses gathering on anniversary of NATO attacks
March 24 was day in 1999 when NATO started its bombing of Serbia, that lasted 78 days.

"Serbia that was not killed, and never will be and that is their greatest curse, and our mission, and our future," Vucic said at the central state ceremony to mark the 19th anniversary of the NATO bombing.

The road through Kalotina to Serbia is unpassable, announced the Union of Bulgarian Drivers.
The highway from Niš through Aleksinac in the direction of Belgrade is impossible to use.
Due to a chain crash in which at least 20 cars were involved, the highway Belgrade-Niš has been blocked. At least 18 people have been injured.

Victims of NATO's bombing commemorated
BELGRADE -- Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic on Tuesday paid homage to those members of the Interior Ministry (MUP) killed during the NATO bombing campaign in 1999.
Their courage and sacrifice must never be forgotten, he said during a wreath laying ceremony in Belgrade.
