An Egyptian court ruled on Jan. 16 against the government's decision to hand over two Red Sea islands to Saudi Arabia - a landmark verdict likely to deepen tensions with the kingdom and embarrass Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi.

Saudi Arabia's King Salman will pay an official visit to the Turkish capital next week ahead of his participation in the 13th Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Summit in Istanbul, the Turkish presidential office has announced.

Turkey should mend fences with Egypt, as the rest of the world sees Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi's government as "normal," Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arınç said in an interview with Al Jazeera.
