Bulgaria to Increase Pensions by Nearly 10% in 2025

Pensions in Bulgaria will be increased by 9.6-9.7% from July next year, as per the Ministry of Finance's latest estimates, which are in line with the Swiss indexation rule. Initially, experts had predicted a smaller increase of 8.7%. As a result, the minimum pension is expected to rise to approximately 636-637 leva.

Bulgarian Red Cross to Distribute Food in Sofia

The Sofia organisation of the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) has started distributing food in Sofia, said the BRC press office. The food products will be distributed under the Operational Programme for Food and/or Basic Material Assistance under the Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived, Operation 2 "Provision of Individual Food Packages 2017 - 2019".

Bulgarians in Need Received over 32 Tons of Food Products under European Programs

More than 32,000 tons of food products have been implemented in the three up-to-date support campaigns provided under the Operational Program for Food and / or Basic Material Assistance from the European Support Fund for the Most Deprived Persons (FPEN), the Agency for Social Services assistance.

Parliament Will Vote For a New Governor of the National Social Security Institute

At an extraordinary session MPs will vote for a new governor of the National Social Security Institute.

The only nomination for the post is Deputy Social Minister Ivaylo Ivanov. He is a candidate of GERB and United Patriots.

The procedure for the election of a NSI governor was announced after Bisser Petkov became Minister of Labor and Social Policy in the Borisov 3 Cabinet.
