At least nine civilians were wounded, including a child, late Sunday night due to airstrikes by Russia in Zaporizhia in Ukraine (southeast), officials said today.

Ukraine said on Saturday that nine people were killed in the country's Donetsk and Kharkiv regions due to Russian airstrikes.

A statement by the Ukrainian Interior Ministry said that four people were killed and six others injured in the northeastern Kharkiv region, where it claimed Russia attacked settlements in the region's Bohodukhiv, Izium and Kupiansk districts during the day.

A children's hospital in Kyiv suffered significant damage on Monday morning when a Russian missile struck its toxicology building. The hospital, known as "Okhmatdyt," is one of the largest pediatric medical centers in Europe.

Ukraine on Tuesday accused Russian forces of blowing up a major dam and hydroelectric power station in a part of southern Ukraine they control, threatening a massive flood that could displace hundreds of thousands of people, and ordered residents downriver to evacuate.

When a helicopter crashed in Brovary, Kyiv region today, the leadership of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry was killed, UNIAN news agency reported.

World media reported explosions in the center of Kyiv, a day after the Russian president accused Ukraine of a terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge.

Russia's Defense Ministry said today that more than 1,000 Ukrainian servicemen had surrendered in Mariupol, a strategic port in eastern Ukraine that has been under siege by Russian forces for a month, AFP reported.

"In Mariupol, 1,026 Ukrainian servicemen from the 36th Naval Brigade voluntarily laid down their arms and surrendered," the ministry said.

More than 500,000 refugees have already fled Ukraine due to the Russian military attack. This is the information from the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

In Poland alone, 280,000 foreigners entered the conflict. Nearly 85,000 entered Hungary, 36,000 in Moldova, and more than 30,000 in Romania and Slovakia. 300 people entered Belarus from Ukraine.

"There were three militants there who started asking me about the war. I said, 'I don't know anything about the war,'" Litvinov recalled.

"I said that I don't do politics, I don't need it. They offered me a drink, said 'Let's drink'."
