Özgür Çınar, Niger ambassador to Türkiye, has stated that the West African country, where the military junta seized power on July 26, is not currently the scene of an active conflict or clash, but quite intense waiting and uncertainty prevails.

As part of the "Scientists of the Future" project supported by the Australian Embassy in the capital Ankara, a sky observation event has been organized at the 3,000-year-old Zerzevan Castle in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır.

Authorities in Istanbul handed a total of 48,000 Turkish Liras ($5,700) in fines to tour boats in the Bosphorus for violating sound limits following an unannounced inspection.

The teams of the Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization and the Coast Guard Command conducted an inspection of the tour boats at the Bosphorus and entertainment venues by the strait on Aug. 16.

The graves of significant and historical figures buried in the Turkish cemetery in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, have been commemorated in an event conducted by Turkish embassy.

Turkish civil society representatives gathered at the Tama Cemetery in Tokyo's Fuçu district at an event hosted by Turkish embassy to pay their respects.

Following the discovery of an underground temple, a closed secret passage and a subterranean sanctuary in the Zerzevan Castle in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır's Çınar district, four other ancient locations from the Roman era were unearthed this year in Çınar.

It is around 30 degrees Celsius under the sun when an elderly figure, huffing and puffing, stands before a wall and points at the life-size figures painted on it. "What are you doing?" he asks, with the sense of entitlement of a true Izmirian, to the woman at a small work table. "Who are those people you are putting on our walls?"
