On October 8, Croatia marks the day in 1991 when the republic's parliament held a session in secrecy that severed all ties with Yugoslavia.

The assembly thus confirmed the parliament's earlier Declaration of Independence from Yugoslavia, passed on June 25, 1991.

More than 25 years since it was dissolved, the subject of the Yugoslav People's Army, JNA, still fascinates many of the people who served it, judging by the number of JNA-themed Facebook pages, websites, forums and blogs.

Three NGOs urged the state prosecution on Sunday to reveal whether anything is being done to investigate war crimes committed by Montenegrin citizens fighting as Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) soldiers on Croatian territory in 1991.
