Italian Noah’s Ark researcher buried in grave overlooking Mt Ararat

An Italian archaeologist, who spent 35 years searching for Noah's Ark in the eastern province of Ağrı, has been laid to rest in a cemetery viewing Mount Ağrı (Mount Ararat) as per his will.

Angelo Palego, who had a heart attack in Ağrı at the beginning of August, was taken to the state hospital in Erzurum, a neighboring province.

Terrorists attack vehicle carrying officials near Turkish border

A rocket hit an armored vehicle carrying Turkish customs personnel in an attack near the border with Iran, killing one person and injuring others, Turkish officials said, adding that clashes were underway in the area.

The terror attack occurred in the Gürbulak district, 3 kilometers from Turkey's border gate with Iran.

Three Iranian suspects detained on Turkish border for laying steel cable

Security forces have detained three Iranians who had laid a steel cable in the eastern province of Ağrı along the Turkish-Iranian border, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

Local gendarmerie units received intelligence of three Iranians who had illegally entered the country and had laid a steel cable on the border near the Gürbulak village in the Doğubeyazıt district.
