Greek and Danish uncover ruins of Ancient Greek port at Lechaion (pics + vid)
Researchers from the University of Copenhagen using cutting-edge technology to investigate the Corinthian port of Lechaion uncovered a well-preserved wooden caissons and also found that the port’s entrance canal was larger than previously believed. Lechaion is just one of the two Corinthian ports active from the 6th century BC to the 6th century AD.
Unrest over education in Kurdish deepens with attacks on schools
The padlocks on the primary schools that were to provide education in Kurdish in southeastern Turkey were removed, while some public schools were attacked with Molotov Cocktails in response to the initial locks.
Bridge in Vrnjacka Banja love-locked for decades
VRNJACKA BANJA - The Bridge of Love in Vrnjacka Banja, one of the 32 bridges, on two small rivers in Serbia's biggest spa, has recently become famous as the New York Times mentioned it as the bridge on which sweethearts first started locking padlocks to the railings as a pledge of undying love, long before they appeared on the Pont des Arts in Paris.
