Carnage in Haiti: Gang slaughtered 110 people because they believed they were casting a spell on their leader’s child

 

At least 110 people were murdered over the weekend in the slum district of Cité Soleil, the Haitian capital, when a gang leader targeted citizens over sixty years old because he suspected they had sickened his child with “witchcraft”, the National Network for the Defence of Human Rights (RNDDH) announced yesterday (Sunday).

Cirque du Soleil founder wants to buy back show

Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberte announced on May 24 he intends to try to buy back the world's most famous circus troupe, which is struggling due to the coronavirus pandemic.    

Laliberte, a former stilt-walker-turned-millionaire who co-founded the troupe in 1984, sold his last remaining stake in Cirque in February.

Turkish court orders interim injunction against Cirque du Soleil trucks, blocks departure

A Turkish court in the northwestern border province of Edirne has passed an interim injunction ordering the seizure of 23 trucks belonging to the world-renowned Quebecois performance group Cirque Du Soleil after the circus' organizing firm decided to cancel an agreement with Turkish counterparts for a 40-series-show despite receiving advance payments.
