EU Discusses Plans To Fund Refugee Centres Outside Europe

EU Interior Ministers are discussing plans for the financing of refugee centres in Africa at a meeting in Malta.

The UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and other organisations will be able to admit the migrants, while the EU will determine whether they have the right to asylum in Europe, explained German Interior Minister Thomas de Maizière before the meeting on Thursday.

Germany Reintroducing Border Controls over Migrant Influx

Germany has decided to reintroduce border controls along its border with Austria, authorities say.

The measure comes less than a day after the city of Munich, which has given shelter to thousands of migrants from the Middle East, said it could not cope with the flow of asylum seekers who entered the country in a matter of hours.
