Greece rejects Gucci request for Parthenon runway show
Greece's Central Archaeological Council (KAS), which has oversight over all of the country's ancient sites, has rejected a request by international fashion house Gucci to hold a runway show on the Acropolis this summer.
Archaic Kore travels from Acropolis Museum to Russia’s State Hermitage Museum
One of the Athens Acropolis’ finest and best-preserved korai – the archaic statues depicting young women – will be exhibited at the Roman Courtyard of the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg on Friday.
The statue, which leaves Greece for the first time, is travelling to Russia in the framework of a cultural exchange program organised for the Year of Greece and Russia 2016.
Heidelberg Museum returns fragments of the Erechtheion to Greece
The Museum of Ancient History of Heidelberg intends to return to fragments of the Erechtheion, the ancient Greek temple on the north side of the Acropolis, to Greece. The announcement was made by the Culture ministry on Friday.
