The operatic monodrama "Charlotte," with music and libretto by emerging Greek composer Lina Zachari, debuts nationwide at the National Opera's Alternative Stage at the Stavros Niarchos Cultural Center on June 13 and 15. Directed by Rinio Kyriazi, with Myrsini Chatzikonstanti conducting the eight-member ensemble, mezzo-soprano Ioanna Forti stars in the title role.

Summer Nostos Festival | Athens | June 23 & 24
A lively weekend awaits at the Stavros Niarchos Cultural Center as the Summer Nostos Festival continues with lots more free stuff for kids, teens and adults alike. On Saturday from 7.30 p.m. eight bands comprising girls aged 8-12 - participants in the Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls - will be performing rock covers. That will be followed at 10.15 p.m.

Ross Daly & Martha Mavroidi | Athens | September 16
The Park Life series of concerts continues at the Stavros Niarchos Park on Saturday, September 16, with performances by the Ross Daly Quintet and the Martha Mavroidi Trio. Ross Daly and his four bandmates will take the stage at 8 p.m.
Government saying one thing, doing another on investments

Macron, Tsipras chair talks with French, Greek businesses
Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Friday accompanied French President Emmanuel Macron to the Stavros Niarchos Cultural Center where the two men were to chair a meeting of Greek and French entrepreneurs.
On the second day of his official visit to Greece, flanked by around 40 French entrepreneurs, Macron was expected to repeat his interest in France investing in Greece's recovery.

Security tightened further after guerrilla group's warning
The Greek Police have redrafted a security plan ahead of a scheduled visit to Athens on November 15 and 16 by outgoing US President Barack Obama in the wake of a hand grenade attack on the French Embassy on Thursday and calls by an urban guerrilla group Friday for attacks and protests to sabotage Obama's visit.
