WWF launches project for disaster-resistant homes in Malatya
World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Türkiye has initiated a disaster recovery project in Malatya, one of the provinces severely impacted by the devastating February earthquakes.
The "Restorative Village" project, aligned with WWF Türkiye's "green recovery" call, aims to establish earthquake-resistant homes that are "harmonious with nature."
5.3 magnitude earthquake hits southern Türkiye
A magnitude 5.3 earthquake shook southern Türkiye on Aug. 10, causing damage to buildings and wounding 23 people, Turkish officials said.

Buildings in Malataya heavily ruined from inside after quakes
While almost none of the buildings in the southeastern province of Malatya's Bostanbaşı neighborhood collapsed in the earthquakes, the buildings that looked intact on the outside were almost completely ruined on the inside.
Documentary made on Arslantepe Mound
British historian, writer and publisher Bettany Mary Hughes has made a documentary film on Arslantepe Mound, which is on the UNESCO Cultural Heritage List in the eastern province of Malatya.
Hughes and her team came to Turkey in cooperation with the Culture and Tourism Ministry and the Turkey Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) and started shooting on April 15.

Investigation widened into illegal use of service passports
Turkey's Interior Ministry has widened the scope of an investigation into the use of service passports after reports that 43 people traveling with them have not returned from a visit to Germany last year.

Demand for private jets picks up amid outbreak
Demand for private jets has been on the rise amid the coronavirus outbreak as people, who are stranded in foreign countries, struggle to return to Turkey.
A flight on a private jet from the U.S to Turkey costs around $150,000 while passengers need to pay around 17,000 euros for the trip from London, said Zafer Yeşilgül, the owner of a company, which provides private jet services.
