Turkey accounts for over one tenth of global geothermal capacity
Turkey has steadily raised its share of geothermal power of total electricity generation in the first seven months of this year to 3.1 percent with capacity additions of 37 megawatts, according to data compiled by Anadolu Agency on Aug. 24.

Turkey's geothermal target for 2030 quadruples
Turkey has already superseded its 2023 target for installed geothermal capacity, prompting an upward revision of the 2030 target to 4,000 megawatts (MW), General Directorate of Renewable Energy (YEGM) head Oğuz Can said on April 11.

EBRD to finance geothermal exploration in Turkey
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has mobilized a 5 million euros of loan from the Clean Technology Fund (CTF) for the early stage development of the Prosin-Dikili geothermal power plant near the coastal town of Dikili in the western Turkish province of İzmir, EBRD has said.
