Train Chaos in Sofia: Delays and Cancellations Hit Services

Train services have been disrupted due to damage to the contact rail network at Poduyane station in Sofia, resulting in cancellations and significant delays.

The high-speed train from Sofia to Burgas is currently running 80 minutes behind schedule, with additional delays incurred as a result of waiting to pass other trains affected by the damage.

Train Chaos: Delays and Cancellations Disrupt Bulgarian Railways Services

Today, "Bulgarian Railways" (BDZ) has issued an advisory alerting passengers to disruptions and cancellations affecting several train routes due to contact network damage. Services between Shumen and Komunari stations, Karnobat and Varna, Samuil-Silistra, and Lyulyakovo-Daskotna have been suspended until further notice due to network impairment.

Bulgaria Warns Southern Neighbours Greece, Turkey of Floods

SOFIA: Bulgaria has warned its southern neighbours Greece and Turkey they could face floods as heavy rains are expected to swell the Arda and Maritsa rivers flowing into their territories.

The alert came as Greek emergency services were struggling to deal with their worst wildfires in years.

 

Road Junction 'Plodovitovo' is Now Open

The movement on the two newly built additional links on the road junction "Plodovitovo" on Trakia motorway will be launched today, reported bTV.

With the construction there will be a connection with  ''Trakia'' highway and ''Maritsa highway'' from Burgas, Svilengrad and Sofia and the municipalities of Parvomay, Chirpan and Daskalovi Brothers.
