Lake that once source of life now faces drought
Lake Beyşehir, a tectonic freshwater lake in Turkey's southwestern province of Konya, faces the danger of drought due to years of low rainfall and misuse of its water for agricultural purposes.
The lake, once known as the "sea of Konya" due to its water depth and considered the source of life for Turkey's breadbasket Konya Plain, is now on the verge of drying up.

Lake Beyşehir hosts bird watchers, photographers
Home to 190 different bird species, the Lake Beyşehir National Park in the Central Anatolian province of Konya hosts many photographers and bird watchers every year during spring.
Eurasian coot, great crested grebe, cormorant, heron, flamingo, stork, crane, white pelican and seagull are the leading bird species that accommodate and incubate around the lake during migration seasons.

American to be deported soon after ‘suspiciously’ releasing fish into lake
A U.S. citizen has been sent to the capital Ankara for deportation after "suspiciously" releasing fish into a dam lake without permission in the Central Anatolian province of Konya.
Chesterr Juall called a taxi on April 27 and told the driver that he wanted to go to Beyşehir Lake.
When the taxi arrived at Altınapa Dam Lake, Juall asked the driver to stop the vehicle.
