Intergovernmental Summit: Greece-Cyprus cooperation on Electric Interconnection – Geopolitical risks deemed manageable
The geopolitical risks associated with constructing the Great Sea Interconnector, linking Greece, Cyprus, and Israel, are considered manageable, stated Cypriot Energy Minister Giorgos Papanastasiou during the second Greece-Cyprus Intergovernmental Summit in Nicosia.

ADMIE signs agreement with China’s SGID for 20% stake in Ariadne interconnection
The Independent Power Transmission Operator (ADMIE) signed an agreement for the sale of a 20% stake in its subsidiary Ariadne Interconnection to State Grid International Development (SGID) of China on Thursday.
Ariadne Interconnection is the implementation agent for the linking of the Crete and Attica power grids.

Grid operator ADMIE is launching a key 1.42-billion-euro project for the integration of the Dodecanese into the continental high-voltage network, with the proclamation of the tender for the Corinth-Kos electrical interconnection.
One offer tabled for Attica-Crete power link
One binding offer was submitted for the acquisition of 20% of the Independent Power Transmission Operator's (ADMIE) subsidiary company Ariadne Interconnection, operator of the Attica-Crete electrical interconnection.
The bid was submitted by State Grid International Development Belgium Ltd, a subsidiary of the Chinese State Grid, which already holds 24% of ADMIE shares.

September verdict for Cyprus power link
Cyprus' Minister of Energy George Papanastasiou on Thursday received the comprehensive cost-benefit study for the Cyprus-Greece (Crete) electricity interconnection, the Great Sea Interconnector (GSI), by the project's implementing body, Greece's Independent Power Transmission Operator (ADMIE).

ADMIE stresses benefits of Cyprus interconnection
The electrical interconnection of the Great Sea Interconnector between the Greek, Cypriot and Israeli power grids is the only way to sustainably develop renewable energy sources and achieve the high European goals while ensuring prices much lower than the current levels.

ADMIE plans to invest €5.5 billion by 2034
Investments of 5.5 billion euros are included in the new 10-Year Development Plan of the Independent Power Transmission Operator (ADMIE) for the period 2025-2034 which is to be put to public consultation in the next few days before being submitted for approval to the Regulatory Authority for Energy.
