‘Antalya weathers difficult tourism season successfully’
It has been a difficult season for Antalya's hoteliers with several events impacting tourism activity, but tourist inflows from Europe are expected to pick up in October, says Kaan Kavaloğlu, the president of the Mediterranean Touristic Hoteliers' and Investors' Association (AKTOB).
Bankruptcy of German tour operator FTI may hit Antalya’s tourism sector
The tourism industry in Türkiye's popular holiday destination Antalya is facing risks from the bankruptcy of the German tour operator FTI.
Earlier this week, FTI, Europe's third-largest tour operator, filed for insolvency in a court in Germany.
It said on June 3 trips that haven't yet started will be canceled or scaled back.

Major increase in German visitors expected
Germany's major tour operators are reporting an increase in bookings for holidays in Greece this year.
Data from Thomas Cook's German subsidiary point to a rise of more than 40 percent on last year, while demand for Greek vacations by TUI customers has grown 41 percent year-on-year, according to the online edition of the fvw journal.

Hopeful signs from Germany in tourism
Europe's top Turkish tour operator Bentour brought together the owners and staff of 400 tourism agencies from Switzerland, Germany and Austria at a three-day event in the southern tourism hub Antalya.
Considering the serious decline this year in the number of tourists visiting Turkey, it was a particularly important meeting, during which projections for 2017 were discussed.
