Romanian climber Gavan ascends Gasherbrum 2, elevation 8,035m

Romanian climber Alex Gavan on July 18 ascended Gasherbrum 2, elevation 8,035 meters, of Mount Karakorum, Pakistan, without using additional oxygen or Sherpas, according to a press statement released on Tuesday. This is Gavan's seventh successful climb of a peak with an elevation higher than 8,000m.

Bulgaria's Boyan Petrov Climbs World's Deadliest Peak

Bulgarian mountarineer Boyan Petrov has successfully set foot on Annapaurna, the tenth-highest peak.

Annapurna, 8901 m, is known as the world's deadliest mountain.

Petrov has already given Annapurna an unsuccessful try.

His last attempt at conquerng Annapurna had to be postponed due to severe weather conditions.

Two Bulgarian Mountaineers to Attempt Ascent of World's Tenth Highest Peak

Bulgarian mountaineers Boyan Petrov and Atanas Skatov will be in the same expedition which will attempt to ascend the tenth highest peak in the world - Annapurna in the Himalayas.

Rising at an altitude of 8091 metres, Annapurna is considered as one of the deadliest eight thousanders to climb, with roughly every third attempt resulting in fatality.
