Last Despatches: Photographer’s Death Brings Sarajevo and Barcelona Together
It was the spring of 1992 and the war had just started in Bosnia and Herzegovina when a young Spanish photographer with no prior war reporting experience landed in Sarajevo to take the pulse of the conflict in the city.
His name was Jordi Pujol Puente, he was 24 years old and he worked as a stringer for the Associated Press news agency and Avui, a young Barcelona newspaper.
Mexico in 3-Day Countdown to Search for Earthquake Survivors
Rescuers are unlikely to find any more survivors of Mexico's earthquake still buried in the ruins and will cease operations to find them at the end of Thursday, the emergency services chief said, quoted by Reuters.

At least 226 people were killed by a powerful earthquake that struck central Mexico on Sept. 19, the nation's civil protection agency said.
The death toll in Mexico City surged to 117 people, Luis Felipe Puente, the head of the agency, wrote in a post on Twitter.
The earthquake struck on the 32nd anniversary of a temblor that killed thousands in the capital.
