BDZ organizes a holiday attraction trip for all its customers with a steam locomotive on the occasion of the Independence Day of Bulgaria on the Sofia-Cherepish-Sofia route, the railways reported.

Tickets are now available for the adventure trip with Baba Metsa retro train, Bulgaria's railway company BDZ said on May 10, reports BNT. 

The adventure journey with the steam locomotive from Sofia to Bankya will start from Sofia central station at 09:00 on May 18.

A 100-ton steam locomotive from the Third Reich will be restored in Bulgaria. It will arrive by ship on the Danube because it is too heavy to transport on land. The repair, worth about half a million euros, will be carried out in a railway repair workshop in Sofia, reports Darik. 
 

Bulgarian State Railways (BSR) organizes attraction ride with a steam locomotive for Saint George's Day, Liana Pandalieva (BSR) announced,  according to Radio Focus .

She said that the train will start from Gorna Oryahovitsa railway station on May 6. She added that for the passengers will be provided small gifts and additional information.

A steam locomotive built more than 80 years ago will pull a train for the first time after its restoration in Bulgaria next weekend, the country's state railways company BDZ announced on Sunday.

Visitors to the Diakofto-Kalavryta rack railway have a unique chance to experience a slice of living history while enjoying the lush beauty of the region thanks to the operation of the original DK 8001 steam locomotive – known as ‘Moutzouris’.

Bulgarian State Railways will launch a steam locomotive on June 1, on the occasion of the International Children's Day.

The train will run between the capital city Sofia and the nearby town of Bankya and will leave at 13.30 pm on Sunday from Sofia Central Railway Station.
