Protests All Over Greece Over Deadly Train Accident
Students, lawyers, teachers, rail workers, members of unions and many others responded to Greece's largest private and public sector unions' call to protest on Thursday over the deadly train crash.
Bus services to be disrupted on May 30, 31
Bus services in Athens will be disrupted on Wednesday, May 30, followed by an all-day work stoppage on May 31 as workers announced on Wednesday they will join the 24-hour strike called by the public sector union, ADEDY, and the General Confederation of Greek Labor (GSEE).
More specifically, buses will run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday.

ADEDY, GSEE announce 24-hour strike
The public sector union, ADEDY, and the General Confederation of Greek Labor (GSEE) have announced a 24-hour strike on May 30.
According to statements issued by both unions, the industrial action will be taken to protest against "austerity, unemployment and overtaxation."

Civil servants' union seeks to undermine evaluation, calls general strike
The umbrella union for Greek civil servants, ADEDY, on Monday renewed its efforts to thwart an ill-fated initiative to evaluate public sector workers, calling on employees and managers to boycott the process, while joining forces with the private sector union GSEE to call a general strike for May 30 to protest austerity.
Gov't seeks new way to evaluate civil servants
The Administrative Reform Ministry is seeking a new way to conduct assessments of the country's civil servants, one of a barrage of reforms demanded by Greece's international creditors, as the implementation of the current system is being stymied by the public sector workers' union, ADEDY, and the municipal employees' union, POE-OTA.
