Venezuelan Constitutional Assembly election

The opposition coalition in Venezuela on Sunday rejected "the military threat by any foreign power," two days after US President Donald Trump said he was considering such an option against the crisis-hit South American nation.

The new constitutional assembly assumed even more power in Venezuela by declaring itself as the superior body to all other governmental institutions, including the opposition-controlled congress.

The Hacker Group "Bailiffs" managed to gain control over the sites of the Supreme Court, the Parliament and the National Electoral Commission of Venezuela, the BNR reported quoting TASS.

Voting is under way in Venezuela to elect a new assembly with powers to rewrite the constitution, reported BBC.
The opposition is boycotting the vote which it says is a power grab by President Nicolás Maduro.
