The war in the Palestinian territories is having a catastrophic impact on the local economy, the World Bank has said, noting that all sectors have been badly affected by Israel's attacks.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Friday emphasized the importance of unity and joint action for Islamic countries in response to Israel's ongoing onslaught in Gaza.

President Erdoğan said the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and occupied Palestinian territories since Oct. 7, 2023, have once again demonstrated the critical importance of Islamic nations' unity and solidarity.

The U.N. condemned on Nov. 8 the staggering number of civilians killed in Israel's war in Gaza, with women and children comprising nearly 70 percent of the thousands of fatalities it had managed to verify.

In a fresh report, the United Nations human rights office detailed the "horrific reality" that has unfolded for civilians in both Gaza and Israel.

United Nations agencies have long warned that it could take decades to rebuild Gaza after Israel's offensive against Hamas, one of the deadliest and most destructive military campaigns since World War II.

Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas has expressed gratitude to Türkiye for its support against Israel's ongoing attacks on Gaza and neighboring territories.

The UN Human Rights Office has cautioned Israel that its actions in Gaza may have breached international law. This warning comes in response to the Israeli military's alleged failure to uphold principles such as distinction, proportionality, and caution during attacks in Gaza.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has called on the international community to unite against Israel's "barbarism" in Gaza.

"I call on all states to protect the honor and dignity of humanity, along with the children of Gaza, and to take a clear stance against the out-of-control Israeli barbarism," Erdoğan said in a message shared on social media.

Humanitarian aid for Gaza is continuing to leave Cyprus by sea and will be held in floating storage off the coast of the enclave until a US-built military pier undergoes repairs, a Cypriot government official has said.

In addition to taking control of the corridor, Israel has intensified its incursion into Rafah

The Israeli army has announced that it controls the strategic zone along the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt, known as the Philadelphi Corridor. This area spans 8 kilometers and, in some places, is more than 100 meters wide. The military claims to have discovered 20 tunnels used by the radical Palestinian group Hamas to smuggle weapons into Gaza.
