Freedom Movement condemns Mahnič’s “radical Islamist” tweet
Ljubljana – The Freedom Movement party has condemned in the strongest terms a tweet by Žan Mahnič, the state secretary for national security at the prime minister’s office, which labelled one of their candidates, Faila Pašić, a “radical Islamist” and accused the party of opening doors to Islamisation and sharisation of Slovenia.
Reporter says Janša distanced himself from far-right activists
Ljubljana – In its latest commentary, Reporter looks at far-right activists’ Twitter squabbles, after a leading member of the neo-Nazi group Yellow Jackets lamented being shunned on Twitter by PM Janez Janša and Žan Mahnič, the state secretary for national security who, according to Reporter, has friendly ties with the far-right group.

Ljubljana – Igor Kršniar, a journalist for the political magazine Reporter, has initiated a private prosecution against Prime Minister Janez Janša over two Twitter posts in 2019 that implied he was a drug user.

Journalists condemn threats by govt national security official
