Russian arms maker Kalashnikov on Thursday presented its new electric car inspired by a rare 1970s model, saying the new technology will rival Elon Musk's Tesla.
The brand, best known for the AK-47 machine gun, presented the decidedly retro-looking pale blue prototype, the CV-1, at a defense expo outside Moscow.

Serbian Army to buy SCAR-L Belgian rifles
The Serbian Army will receive state of the art Belgian-made automatic rifles, the daily Politika writes.
The newspaper said it received confirmation from the Serbian Ministry of Defense about the acquisition of FN-Herstal's SCAR-L ("light" variant of SN SCAR) rifles.

Turkish firm to manufacture 10,000 assault rifles
A mass production agreement for Turkey's first locally designed and produced assault rifle has been signed with a local company, the Defense Industries Undersecretariat has said.
"Some 10,000 MPT-76 will be manufactured by Sarsılmaz Silah Sanayi under the assault rifle supply project," the undersecretariat said in a written statement.

Novi Sad: Man arrested for carrying loaded rifle at hospital
A man armed with a loaded semi-automatic rifle was arrested on Tuesday morning inside the grounds of the Clinical Center of Vojvodina (KCV) in Novi Sad.
The man, identified with his initials as Z.S., also had a bayonet attached to the weapon, the Belgrade-based daily Blic is reporting.
