A new piece of information regarding the case of the police officer who served in the Greek Parliament and was arrested for the rape of his children came to light on Wednesday. According to reports, one of his daughters had described the abuse she was enduring in a school essay two years ago.
State Department says ‘no significant changes’ in Greece’s human rights report
There were "no significant changes" in the human rights situation in Greece over the past year, the US State Department said in its annual report which includes, however, a list of issues pertaining to the treatment of migrants, police and the use of spyware.
ECHR condemns Greece for naming HIV-positive sex workers in 2012
The Strasbourg-based European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has ordered Greece to pay 8,000 euros to an unaccompanied child refugee, who in 2018 was left without accommodation for six months.
The court ruled, unanimously, that there had been a violation of Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights on the prohibition of inhuman or degrading treatment.

Even when the law is enforced on paper, inaction in the execution of any decisions is interpreted as a blank check to continue with business as usual.

Europol asked to help smash ring behind deadly migrant boat sinking
The same human trafficking ring responsible for Wednesday's shipwreck off Pylos in southern Greece had ferried people from Libya to Italy 18 times in two months, according to reports.
Europol's assistance has already been sought to dismantle the ring.

Greek FM commemorates Armenian Genocide
Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias has issued a message to mark the 108th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
"Preserving the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide is the minimum duty of all humanity. Our thoughts today are with the Armenians of our homeland and with the entire world," Dendias tweeted.
