Arad–Szeged pipeline

An important new gas pipeline from Iasi in Romania to Chisinau in Moldova, which will link Moldova to the European energy system via Romania and reduce its energy dependence on Russia, is now 90 per cent finished, the Moldovan Economy and Infrastructure Minister, Serghei Raileanu, said on Tuesday.  

Austrian OMV has asked Bulgarian state-owned gas transmission operator Bulgartransgaz about opportunities to transport natural gas from Romania via Bulgarian gas pipelines, according to Georgi Gegov, CEO of Bulgartransgaz.

Bulgaria, Greece, and Romania have signed a contract on cooperation in the development of regional gas infrastructure.

The contract was signed Tuesday by the energy ministers of the three countries.

Russian energy giant Gazprom has booked the entire capacity tendered by the Hungarian side of the Arad - Szeged gas pipeline, chairman of the Chamber of Deputies' Committee for Industries and Services Iulian Iancu told a conference on energy this Monday.
