Gov’t determined to achieve sustainable growth: VP Yılmaz
The government is determined to achieve a more sustainable and balanced growth, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz has said.
Commenting on the latest industry production data, Yılmaz reiterated the government's commitment to the fight against inflation "with determination" in the period ahead.
Industrial production rises more than 11 percent
The annual increase in industrial production picked up sharply from 1.3 percent in January to 11.5 percent in February, data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) have shown.
In the same month of last year, the country's industrial output slumped 8.8 percent year-on-year.

Construction sector expected to expand 5 pct this year
The Turkish construction sector may grow about 4.5 to 5 percent this year, according to the Association of Construction Material Producers (İMSAD).
The construction sector's growth rate remained above the GDP expansion in the past four quarters, the association said in its monthly report.
Fitch lifts Türkiye’s medium-term growth forecast
Fitch Ratings have revised upwards its medium-term potential growth for Türkiye to 4.1 percent from a previous 3.9 percent.
The Turkish economy grew by 3.8 percent in the second quarter of 2023, after expanding 3.9 percent in the previous period.

Final talks with Eurasian Union next week
Serbian Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic announced this on Thursday, Tanjug is reporting.
Ljajic told TV PINK that he expected a free trade agreement with Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan to be concluded before Russian President Vladimir Putin's January 17 visit to Serbia.
