A Turkish opposition leader on March 31 criticized the president over frequent changes in the Central Bank leadership.

Not only does it avoid fighting inflation, which is its essential mission, it also does not seem to be convinced about the need for such a fight, thus only aggravating the problem.

The third quarter of 2015 is ending off and it can be regarded as certain now that we have lived a lost year. Even worse, there is a strong possibility that next year will also be another lost year.

The Central Bank?s April Monetary Policy Board meeting will be held today on April 22. The fluctuations in the foreign exchange (forex) rates are continuing but the Central Bank is not expected to increase rates to stop this. 

The presentation delivered by Central Bank Governor Erdem Başçı at the beginning of the week had a self-defending feature in the matters of the monetary policy and interest rate decision.
