Türkiye has "neutralized" 21 PKK members in northern Syria and Iraq, near the Turkish border, the country's Defense Ministry said on Dec. 25.

According to the ministry, 20 PKK members were targeted in the areas of Türkiye's Euphrates Shield and Peace Spring operations, while one was targeted in the Claw-Lock operation's zone in northern Iraq.

There is no talk of a ceasefire deal between Turkey and the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in northern Syria, contrary to a US announcement on the issue, a Turkish Defense Ministry official said on Thursday.

The United States continues to engage with Türkiye regarding the unfolding situation in Syria following the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime, the Pentagon announced on Wednesday.

Speaking at a press briefing, Deputy Spokesperson Sabrina Singh revealed that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin held discussions earlier this week with Türkiye's Defense Minister Yaşar Güler.

The Syrian National Army (SNA) of the opposition has fully liberated Manbij in the country's north from the occupation of the PKK/YPG terrorist organization, eradicating one of the largest terror strongholds west of the Euphrates River, the Turkish security sources said on Dec. 9.

The Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) is intensifying its efforts to prevent PKK and YPG from establishing a foothold in the northern Syrian city of Manbij as opposition forces continue their surprise offensive against the regime of President Bashar al-Assad.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud, held a phone conversation on Dec. 1 to discuss the latest developments in Syria, according to sources from the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

Turkish security forces have "neutralized" 37 PKK members in northern Iraq and northern Syria, the Defense Ministry said on Oct. 28, as part of intensified operations in response to a recent terror attack in Ankara.

"We are determined, resolute, capable of eradicating terrorism at its source," the ministry said on X.

Turkish security forces have "neutralized" 15 PKK/YPG members in northern Syria near the Turkish border, the Defense Ministry announced on Oct. 27.

They were targeted in areas under Türkiye's Euphrates Shield and Peace Spring operations in northern Syria, the ministry said on X.

"Our operations will continue until the last terrorist is neutralized," the post read.

The National Intelligence Organization (MİT) has destroyed 157 sites, including safe havens, weapons, and ammunition depots in operations against the terrorist organization PKK/YPG in northern Syria and Iraq, a security source said on Saturday.
