Engraving in Ceramic Art | Athens | June 22 & 29
The B&E Goulandris Foundation (13 Eratosthenous, goulandris.gr), partnering with ceramist Elpida Kourtzi, hosts the "Engraving in Ceramic Art: Mugs & Dishes" workshop for adults and teens. Participants will create ceramic utility products inspired by the foundation's collection. The workshop comprises two three-hour sessions.

UNESCO listing brings new shine to North African metal art
Mohamed Amine Htiouich began honing his metal engraving skills as a teenager. Now the 37-year-old Tunisian is training the next generation in the ancient art, recently recognized by UNESCO.
Htiouich first worked on copper, then silver and finally gold at the family's workshop in the old medina of Tunis.
Shaping Erzurum's 'black gold' for 43 years
Metin Çelebi has been shaping and engraving jet stones, which is called "black gold" in the eastern province of Erzurum, for 43 years. He engraves traditional Turkish motifs on them, making rosaries and accessories before selling them to buyers.
